New Mask Policy
In accordance with the most recent Durham County mask mandate, all clients and staff will be required to wear a mask while inside. This is effective immediately and applies to those who are vaccinated, unvaccinated, and those with acquired immunity. We will continue to provide curbside service if this is safer or more convenient for you.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

It's been so exciting having our clients back in the building! We are happy to announce that if you have been fully vaccinated against Covid, masks will be optional for entering the building. If you are not vaccinated, we do ask that you wear a mask inside during your appointment. We will continue to offer curbside service and prescription window pick-up if that is more convenient for you. We can't wait to see your smiling faces!

Sincerely,
Your friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

December 2020

Wow! What a crazy year 2020 has been. We feel very fortunate to have kept our doors open during the pandemic. We all love our profession and our clients and are sincerely thankful for your loyalty and support this year. It hasn't always been easy and there have been bumps in the road. We appreciate all your continued support and encouragement during the adventure known as "curbside service" and phone system challenges. Conditions have not been ideal for any of us but keeping your pets healthy is always our main goal.

In lieu of our annual food donation drive for the APS of Durham, we have decided to give a financial contribution and encourage you to do the same. Click here to donate now .

During this holiday season, we wish you health, peace, and all the happiness these times will allow. Hug your family a little tighter and hold your pets a little closer as we all get through this together. As the signs we are holding in our photo say, "Goodbye 2020"! Here's to a happy 2021.

Sincerely,
Your friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

We would like to say THANK YOU for voting us
Best of Durham 2020!

Best of Durham

6/17/20

It truly is an honor and privilege to serve you and your pets. It’s humbling for us as a Veterinary Hospital in Bahama to be voted a favorite in The Durham Magazine’s Best Of 2020 issue! Even though the last few months have been challenging for everyone, you have shown us patience and kindness as we have navigated through the complexities of social distancing and curbside service. We miss seeing you face to face (mask free) and we are all looking forward to the day when we can welcome you back in the building. Until then, we want to keep our staff safe so we can continue to serve you and we want to keep you safe as well. As cases of Covid-19 continue to rise in our area, we will continue to see patients via curbside service until further notice and feel this is the most responsible thing to do.

We will be closed on Friday, July 3rd. Our employees have been working overtime to provide care for our patients and we would like to thank them by giving them a much needed day off! Please plan for any medications, monthly preventatives or appointments that may be needed prior to that day. We hope you all have a safe holiday and enjoy time with your family and loved ones.

Thank you again for allowing us to care for your pets.

Sincerely,

Your friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

COVID-19 UPDATE

Greetings!

We hope this email finds you happy and healthy.

Curbside service is going very well. We are very thankful for your patience through this process and for the dedication of our team members.

We recognize the importance of continuing to provide timely preventive care for your pets. Therefore, on May 1st we will resume all routine appointments, in addition to sick and emergency visits. This includes all annual exams, vaccines, spays, neuters and dentals. We also have limited technician appointments for nail trims and anal glands each day. We will continue to follow strict protocol to reduce exposure to the virus.

Our phone lines have been extremely busy with the curbside service and we anticipate the next few days will be even busier. Please continue to have patience with us! You may also contact us via email at [email protected] to schedule appointments or request refills on prescriptions.

We have missed you and can’t wait to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Your friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital  919-471-4103

COVID-19 UPDATE

We hope everyone is doing well, and your families are safe and healthy.

In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and like many medical facilities across the country, we at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital have decided to DELAY any ROUTINE procedures and medical care for our patients.

This means if your pet is healthy, and doing well at home, we recommend forgoing any routine examinations, preventive testing, and vaccinations on all adult pets for the next several weeks, EVEN IF you get a reminder from us in the meantime!

We will continue to see and do:

  • Sick visits (not eating, vomiting, diarrhea > 24-48 hours, lethargy, breathing abnormalities).
  • Wounds and injuries (lamenesses, lacerations, bite wounds, other open wounds).
  • Kitten and puppy vaccinations through completion of the series.
  • Routine spay surgeries in females less than 2 years of age.
  • Medically warranted dental evaluations, cleanings, dental surgery.
  • Exams for updating Rabies vaccination, or to refill critical medications.

If your pet is due for its annual check-up, and you would like to schedule their appointment, please call our office at 919-471-4103, and we can schedule them starting in May.

Sincerely,

Your friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

COVID19 UPDATE FROM BAHAMA ROAD VETERINARY HOSPITAL

We hope everyone is safe, and abiding by the recommendations of doctors and public health officials during this time.

As you know, Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital is currently open, although operating with some alternate protocols. This could change on a day by day, or week by week basis.

We want to assure you that we will do our best to continue to deliver high quality veterinary care. The “curbside” passing off of pets and medical supplies has worked pretty well so far, and we will still accept some patients as drop offs.

Certain areas are beginning more stringent “shelter in place” rules, which can make us more anxious about our pets’ health and well-being. Veterinary hospitals have been categorized as “essential” services, so we will continue to provide care as long as we can. We continue to implement extra measures in an attempt to minimize the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus.

If you are concerned about your pet or if you have any other questions or concerns, please call the clinic at 919-471-4103.

Sincerely,
Your friends at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

March 19, 2020

Due to the ongoing concern surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital will be implementing additional protocols starting tomorrow Friday, March 20th.   Our goal at Bahama Road is to continue to provide time sensitive preventative care, as well as sick and emergent medical care to our pets while minimizing risk to the community, our clients and our staff.

Effective Friday, March 20th, only employees will be allowed in the clinic.

New Process for Appointments:

Please do not bring your pet to the clinic if you are sick!  Instead please have a friend or family member bring the pet.

Please call 919-471-4103 to schedule an appointment. We will ask some brief information about your pet’s needs, including the best contact information during the appointment.  Upon arrival, please call our main number to let us know you are here.  A veterinary technician or assistant will take the medical history and then they will meet you in our foyer to get your pet.

Cats must be in pet carriers and dogs must either be on a leash, or in a pet carrier.

We will take your pet to an exam room and the doctor will perform a physical exam.  We kindly ask that you wait in your car during the exam. The doctor will then call to discuss recommendations.  Any diagnostics and/or treatments will be done, followed by additional discussions if needed. All discharges will be done over the phone.

Payment will be done over the phone with credit/debit cards if possible. A receptionist will tell you the exact amount if you need to pay with check or cash and we will come to the car to receive payment.

Curbside service is available if you need to come to the clinic for pet food, medications, or supplies. Call us when you arrive and we will be ready to help. If you call for a prescription refill, we will call you when it’s ready and take payment at that time.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter as we try to get through this pandemic together, and as quickly as possible.  Please call (919) 471-4103 if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment.

Sincerely,
Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital
